Toni TrivkovićWhen the final whistle blew we had to admit - the scoreboard wasn’t exactly in our favor. Agilo Sports’ fourth season playing in the Sun City Sport corporate football league and we placed 4th out of 14 teams—not the result we were hoping for.
But you know what? We still walked away from this season feeling like champions. And that’s all because of the incredible humanitarian spirit that runs through this squad of ours.
You see, first place, last place or fourth place, we’d made sure all our goals still counted. For every single one of the 117 goals we scored this season, we donated 10 euros to a worthy cause. And the best part? The ripple effect of our little initiative. Word spread, and soon enough, other companies and individuals in our community were jumping on board. Before long, the donation per goal had skyrocketed to an amazing 86 euros! That adds up to a whopping great 10,062 euros that we’re able to donate where it will make a difference. This year we’re delighted to support Believe and Act again—a fantastic local non-profit organization. They provide InnoWalk robots for neurorobotic rehabilitation. These orthopedic aids assist standing and walking therapy, and help vulnerable adults and children with disabilities to get moving and stand tall.
This isn’t the first time we’ve used our football prowess to help others get on their feet. In a previous season, our goal-scoring exploits already allowed us to contribute to Believe and Act. Our donation went towards their Children’s Steps program’s purchase of a walking-assistant robot, now helping kids. Talk about making a tangible difference in someone’s life.
And that’s the kind of stuff that motivates our team. Sure, we love winning on the pitch, but making a real impact off the field—that’s what gets us really going. Football with a higher purpose, that’s what it’s all about.
Imagine if every club did something like this.
